CNLES - About us

Cruz Na Ligas Elementary School, with 1,500 square meter land area is housed by Barangay Krus Na Ligas, an urban community which is located at South-western outskirts of the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.

The barrio which was once a thickly forested area, with many tall trees and thick bushes is now a major access point of residents and business establishments situated along the nearby thoroughfares as well as Katipunan-based higher institutions of learning to include but not limited to Ateneo de Manila University and Miriam College.

CNLES embraces a community of informal settlers of which 50% households are considered to be living in makeshift housing. Further, occasional incidences of fires explain the current physical school situation as evidenced by the almost overlapping parameters of residential houses with the school premises.

Mindful of these real scenarios, the CNLES, being a learning institution keen enough in bringing out the best in every child, is firm in believing that change is bound to happen. For in embracing change, we are able to exhibit optimism in dealing with education-related issues and drawbacks. With this in mind, being at the forefront of equipping children with the essential knowledge, skills and attitudes as their shields in battling the adversities in this technologically-driven world, the school stays to tap both internal and external stakeholders in developing in-the-field policies as well as in decision-making processes.

Being used to be in the limelight in the education arena, Cruz Na Ligas Elementary School aims to sustain its identity as an outstanding child friendly educational institution aside from the fact that it has already established its name of being compliant with the legal requisites of the child protection policy.

Moreover, CNLES is still enjoying the trust and confidence of elementary graders as it continuously record a year by year enrollment surge.

Currently, CNLES is headed by a Principal IV with 86 teachers composed of 2 Master II, 5 Master Teacher I, 14 Teacher III, 7 teacher II and 48 Teacher I, 17, non-teaching personnel's composed of 1 School Clerk, 1 Property Clerk, 1 School Driver, 2 Administrative Aides, 2 Security Guards, 3 Erin Miles and 5 Canteen Staff. Also with 3,262 pupils for the beginning of the School Year 2019-2020.

All teachers have the required teaching loads. Most of them have full loads while others are given additional tasks to handle the school’s ancillary services like Canteen, Library. Clinic, property and others.

The school is adopting 2 session scheme of AM and PM classes to accommodate the pupils from SPED, Kindergarten, and Grades One to Six. Each Grade level is headed by a Grade Chairman and each class with adviser. The school also caters to the need of the out of school youths through its Alternative Learning System Program (ALS).

To support the school in carrying out its goals and objectives, to foster closer and more harmonious relationships and to promote welfare and professional growth among teachers, an organization was created called: The teachers’ Club” Organization of Cruz Na Ligas Elementary School. There is also a General Parent-Teachers’ Association (GPTA) and local Homeroom Parent-Teachers Association (HRPTA). These organizations help promote camaraderie and god relationships between parents and teachers. They also support the other needs of the school.
